International Student Luncheon

Every Thursday, over a hundred students from around the world file into Kanley Chapel for a free lunch. They appreciate the food provided by our church partners, as well as the volunteers who serve them. But they keep coming back for the relationships, eager to gather around the tables and share what's going on in their studies, their lives, and their homes with staff, volunteers, and other students who understand the experience. of being far from home and studying in a different language and culture.

The luncheon is an environment of respect, curiosity, and grace.

Respect

We meet students from many different countries and cultures. All are made in the image of God and deserving of respect, no matter their background, religion, personality, or individual circumstances.

Curiosity

Respect alone leaves people at a distance. Curiosity draws people together across differences. When we are genuinely interested in others, we ask questions and close the distance between us.

Grace

Building relationships across differences will inevitably lead to unintentional offenses. God offers  endless grace for us to receive and extend to others as we move towards each other in relationship.
